The singer of popular numbers, "Ma yesto geet gaunchu" and "kadke kadke nazar" Joheb, needs no introduction to people.

Although he was in the shade in the Nepali music industry, he says that he wasn't disappeared anywhere, instead he was preparing to come out with something better. He believes that it is not necessary for an artist to bring out a record every year and remain in the limelight. He was just a bit busy preparing himself to come back into the arena with the best.

As he was involved in the family business at Dubai, he wasn't able to devote so much time for the media and programs, but even if he wasn't seen or heard anywhere, he
was busy composing songs and preparing for the album "Revive". In the meantime, he has done some programs in Dubai.

Joheb is about to leave for Dubai again on the March 13th, for a musical program, "Ramailo Sanjh" for which he is both the coordinator and a performer.

After 3 years, Joheb has recently come out with an album "Revive". Cybersansar brings an exclusive candid talk with Joheb Manandhar.

Here are some excerpts of the interview.

1. Let's talk about your recently released album, "Revive", why this particular name? To specify your comeback or there are some other reasons?

You can say that. The title suits the situation as well. It's like, in the music I am breathing into life again. I don't say I was totally disappeared but as I was not in the media, people may take it that way.
Also, previously my albums used to come in the name of the band "Kath Sign", so this time I thought of making some changes. That's why, "Revive".

2. A remix, Celina, Phursad ko bela a hiphop track, rock, disco, romantic and sentimental numbers, seems like it's a whole packaged album. You must have work hard isn't it? Must be a lot of changes in your musical pattern?

Yes, I have worked hard no doubt. During these years, I had done more than 20-22 songs and in this album; only the selected tracks are there. Even if I have combined multiple genres of music, I want to say that I am on my own pattern. People will still recognize that it's Joheb's songs.

3. Even if your presence was missed in the music industry, we heard you were seen around many programs in Dubai. Why didn't you appear anywhere in the programs or media in Nepal? Didn't you come to Nepal in between?

Yes, I came to Nepal. In fact, I used to go to Dubai for a while and then come back. I was just thinking of coming out with a good preparation. I don’t think it is necessary for an artist to bring out an album every year and remain in the limelight.

4. How is it finally coming back after years?

It's quite difficult for me to answer. I don't think I was disappeared anywhere, it was just like a normal preparation that I was doing for the album. I was busy with the family business so couldn't give much time to media and other things. Well, if this is really a come back, I would like to say that, I have been able to get a very good media support like before. I am happy for this and also I have been able to receive a good fans' support.

5.What kind of changes did you find in the industry, then and now?

I have been noticing a lot of changes. People's tastes have changed. Remixes are in the trend now. Especially in the music videos, there is a revolution. Before, it used to be very simple. But now, there are creative and quality music videos. So, I have also taken consideration to these things this time.

6. You've also released a music video "Kina Kina". Tell us some stories.

The video shoot is done in the deserts of Dubai. I think it's the first time in the Nepali music videos that is shot in that location. It's a romantic song. Poozana had acted in the video. My part of the video is shot in Dubai and the rest in Nepal. It's a simple story of lovers.

7. How are you taking this come back as? Will it be stable or not?

Now I am thinking of continuing it. I wasn't lost anywhere; just my presence in the industry was missed.
So, now I am planning to be more conscious about that. But I strictly believe that it requires at least a year or two for any artist to have a gap between the albums. You need to prepare yourself for good music.

8. Recently, what are you busy with?

Now, I am busy in the album promotion.

9. You also have a program in Dubai isn't it?

Yes, it's on the 15th and 16th of March. I am both a coordinator and a performer for the program. Some other movie and music artists are also performing in the program. It's named "Ramailo Sanjh, a musical concert".

10. Are you working on any other music videos?

I am planning for the video of another song. It's a country number, "aaunchu aaunchu". The theme of the song is that, I am promising to come back in the music field again. I am looking forward to it. It's not finalized yet.

11. So, now I am sure the audiences are not gonna' miss Joheb anymore!

I think so. After this, I am also planning to bring out another album "Best of Joheb". I have remixed my old songs.
Also, I have given some songs for collection albums.

12. At last, do you want to say anything?

I would like to thank everyone for the support. I have been able to get a good media and fans' support. Looking forward to your comments.
