She is on the hits fm nomination list on the category of “best female artist of the year.” A fresh newcomer in the music industry, she describes herself as a very confident person. Wishing her all the best for the hits fm awards, in this exclusive candid talk segment, we today present Brinda Singh. With her debut album “Zenith”, Brinda makes her quick pace to popularity with the remix Siri ma Siri. But not to forget, her original songs equally deserve the same level, she is in the nomination for her another song named “Timi Bina.” With an exclusive candid talk with cybersansar, she also wishes all the best to other hits fm nominated artists.

Here are some excerpts of the interview.

1. Have you able to collect any responses of the album? Was the return satisfactory?

Yes, people recognize me. oh! She is the singer of this song. They appreciate my work. So it feels really great. The return I got is satisfactory because a singer always craves for those things, financially, it was good.. But more than that, I am satisfied personally in return of what I got.

2. You did the video of “Siri Ma Siri” despite having other original songs. People say that remix songs are not your identity so, why didn’t you do your original tracks instead? Or you thought that will be an easy way to popularity?

Actually, I had not thought of doing a remix at first. I had already recorded the songs and was ready for the record but after I approached the music company, they suggested me about the remix, even I thought it was a good idea because at the time remix was “in” so, the song was recorded at last. Yes, I do agree that remix songs do not make your identity but still I have other original tracks that are well appreciated by people.

3. Do you mean to say the Hits Fm Awards nomination?

Yes that can also be an example. In the hits fm awards, I am nominated for the song “timi bina”. People appreciated that song so I am nominated otherwise I would have just been nominated for the remix, but no, this is my original song that I have been nominated for.

4. How is it to be nominated for the Hits Fm Awards?

It’s great. I am delighted. Actually when I heard that, I had thought the category will be something like best debut singer like that, but I am nominated for “the best female vocal” so that’s more exciting.

5.There are quite experienced singers in the nomination list as well, so aren’t you nervous or anything? How much expectation do you have?

I am not nervous at all. Yes, there are some experienced singers in the list but still it is so obvious that you will have some expectations if you are in the nominees. Rest, let’s see what happens.

6. Let’s go back to your album. “Zenith”, why did you choose the particular title?

“Zenith” is entirely my concept of the title. It means a peak point. Well, I might not have reached that far at the peak, but still for me, it’s something that I have achieved after hardship and so much effort and personally for me, it’s a great achievement. So, “Zenith.”

7. Any planning for your second record?

Not yet. Maybe if I do, it will be like after 2 years. But the next one will be completely different from what I have done this time. The songs that are in this album are entirely commercial, I did them according to the market but my next will be something like a collection of my favorites, it maybe jazz or acoustic or some other music.

8. Don’t you think 2 years is quite a long time? A lot of people will be coming and going by the time. So do you think you can still keep your image?

I know it’s along time. But now I am busy with other assignments right now. Yes, people might forget, my image may fade away but it won’t be totally finished. I think if I come back again at least people will recall oh, this is this singer. So, I take it as a challenge instead.

9. Have you taken any musical lessons or vocal classes?

Not specifically, I just did a 2, 3 months vocal training from Doremi, from Guru Dev Kamad. Otherwise, I have not taken any lessons. My practice is like; I just put on the music and sing along with it.

10. What do you do beside music?

Besides music, there are a lot of things that I do. I am engaged to job right now and there are a lot of other personal things that goes around. Family, friends etc.

11. How do you describe yourself?

I am a very confident person. Go get…. type, and happy go lucky…

12. Do have anything to say to your fans?

I am really very thankful to them for appreciating my work.

13. At last, do you want to tell us anything else?

Well, Nepali music industry is getting better. Everybody is contributing and I am also doing it from my side and hopefully I will continue doing that. I wish all the best to all the hits fm nominees. Thank you.
