Jiwan
cha adhyaaro...
Baanchna cha dherai gaaro
Chuna cha aakash laai
Jitnu cha batas laai....
Sapana ra kartabya laai..
Nispakcha tolna gaaro cha......
There is no doubt that the above mentioned
song must have thrilled your musical passion. Abhaya and the steam
injuns have stamped their rock flavor among the music lovers. "Without
music,I will die."says Abhaya, the vocalist of the esteem injuns
family.During the candid talk with Abhaya, she shares her experiences
in the making of their debut album and their musical career.
Tell us about the band history.
The band was established on 2nd January,
03.Our band members were constantly changing during that time. But
I and Ritesh were the one who were committed to the band. Now I,
itesh, Raju (who's also been equally contributing to the band) and
Punnu are the present band members.
How
long did it take to wrap up things in the studio? Was making this
album a long process?
The recording took us about 14 months
to complete. It's because we wanted everything to be perfect. The
mixing was another long process that took us about 6 months; we
also had to spend a lot of money on that. Another challenge we had
was with the music. We have used live drums. So it was quite a long
process, I guess! But eventually the hard work comes out!(she smiles)
When can we expect
your second album? Have you started writing the lyrics? If so,how
is the music going to be like?
We've not actually planned about the second one yet. Maybe we will
bring it out after a year or so. Actually, we already have 12 songs
ready but we do not want to rush. We have to work out and make decisions
about choosing the right songs. In the first album we experimented
Jaz, rock, pop and Techno kind of music while in the second album, the
music's definitely gonna have a solid sound and will be rocking
and steamy.
You've achieved
a lot during a short period of time. How do you take your popularity
as?
Actually it's not only the popularity that counts.
It's also the work of art. There are lot of artists who come out
at once, get popular and then vanish. We don't only want to be popular
but we also want our work to be appreciated.
Do
you think there will be pressure on you to deliver a successful
album? How are you planning for that?
Well, I don't think we're going to feel any kind of pressure because
a creative mind cannot work under any such pressures. The originality
and creativity is lost if this pressure prevails in work. I think
one should hold on to his own ideas and principles rather than any
pressure.
What makes a song
great according to you?
(Smiles) I think a song should have an everlasting value and its
own life and that maks a song great!
What's the best
review you've ever heard about yourself?
It's- "When it comes to singing, Abhaya leaves the competition
far behind"-by Dinesh Rai. (she smiles)
Any message or advice to the aspiring
artists?
Believe in what you are, only talent is not enough. You also need
to have the perseverance. There are a lot of talented people but
all you need is the strength to carry on to do your own things.
